HUTT VALLEY Y.M.C.A.
STREET APPEAL ON FRIDAY The Hutt Valley Y.M.C.A. has increased so rapidly that, today it nas the largest active membership, percentage of population, in the Dominion. The Association, with a total membership of 1250, has, in active groups, 980 members, of whom 650 are boys and girls under 18 years of age. By keeping the fees as nominal as possible, so as to be within the reach of all, it becomes imperative for the Association to appeal to the public once a year for financial support. The Y.M.C.A. feels that the public realise the tremendous importance of the full training of youth. A sound mind in a sound body is fertile soil for the promotion of allround development—physical, mental, spiritual and social. The many and varied clubs within the organisation cater for individual needs and tastes ahd provide the right lei ad of companionship and environment for young people’s activities. The Y.M.C.A. would be grateful for extra collectors to help with its annual street appeal on Friday. Those willing to help are asked to contact the Y.M.C.A. office, Cuba Street, Petone, or telephone 39 8, ask for 62.
