Mr. Avra Warren, United States Minister to New Zealand, officially opened the Dunedin Winter Show last Friday.
Mr. I. R. Robinson, general mana-ger-engineer to the Hutt Valley Electric Power Board, who was in hospital for some time, has recovered sufficiently to resume duty, and was warmly welcomed at I In* last meeting of the Hoard.
Mr. J. E. Gillingham, of Lowei Hutt, has been admitted to the New Zealand Society of Accountants, with the status of Associated Registered Accountant.
At the annual meeting of the Hutt Valley Master Plumbers’ Association Mr. F. W. Harrison was elected president and Mr. J. I*. Mclntosh vicepresident. The immediate pastpresident was Mr. J. T. Ilrowne.
A motion of condolence with Mr. J. Huggan in the death of his mother was passed in silence at the last meeting of the Hutt Valley Electric Power Board.

At the last meeting of the Hint Rotary Club Mr. N. T. Gillespie was congratulated upon his appointment as president of the Hutt Valley Chamber of Commerce and Industry,

Messrs. G. L. Giesen and 11. Green have been appointed to represent the Hutt Valley Electric Power Board at the annual conference of the Electric Power Boards and Supply Authorities’ Association, to he held in September.
