Harland. of Lower Hutt. is visiting Rotorua. # * • Mrs. J.- Williams, Lower Hutt Librarian, is visiting the annual conference of the New- Zealand Library Association in Christchurch. ffl i]: 9 Mrs. W. Busby, who has been visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Darby, of Do%vner Street. Lower Hutt, returned to her home in Kaltaia last week. # • • Gladys Moncriefl". the popular actress-singer, who is enjoying a holiday tour abroad, will probably make her reappearance on the Australian stage in "Song of Norway." a musical play which is having a long run in New York. # * • Mrs. M. Joyes, of Lower Hutt, wiio is on a three months' visit to Australia, is at present in Melbourne. She reports that the weather there has Veen very cold.
Miss Mary Tweedie, Muc.-Bac. (Kdin.l. F.T.C.L., who has been appointed overseas examiner for New Zealand this year for the Trinity College of London examinations, will arrive next month.
Jov Beat tie, the New Zealand girl, has just finished a long tour of the Dominion as lead with the Williamson Comic Opera Company in "Desert So:ig," "Rose Marie," and "Wildliower." After a holiday at her home in the South Island she will return to Australia.
Miss dinette Delmas. head of the French Press and Information Service in New Zealand, will leave Wellington soon on her return to Prance, as the service has officially closed. The Prime Ministers Department, educational and broadcasting circles. the Press and the Government film studios were represented at a farewell cocktail party.
Mifiß Joan Lines has been appointed to the Town Clerk's staff by the Lower Hutt City Council.
