WIN'S FOK MITT TEAM The Hull Softball Club team, consisting of 5 A team and ". B team members, visited Hastings recently. Although the weather was unfavourable, with drizzling rain, a game was played in (he morning against the Young Citizens' Association which proved an easy win for Hutt. 2-: -6 • In the afternoon a match between Tomoana and Hun resulted in a win ft.r Hun. 22-11. Women's flaiiM* Over the Raster weel.-end a Hutt Valley first-year women's representative learn travelled to Wanganui to play the Wanganui first-year women's representatives at the Oonvllle Domain. The tanif. played under perfect weather conditions, was fast and exciting and resulted in a win for the Hutt Valley team, the scores being Hint Valley 16. Wanganui 15. Tiie Hutt Valley team is to be commended on its fine performance and behaviour on the Held. J. O'Regan's double play on second base was a feature of the game. L. Greer played a very sate game as catcher. L. Thomas also gave a fine display of pitching. i>- Halveand K. Briggs. on lirst and third bases respectively, fully merited their inclusion In the team, as did tieoutfielders, whose catching and backing up play was without fault, especially that of P. Neilson at left field. Much credit is due to the Wanganui team for their sportsmanship and hospitality throughout the Hutt Valley team's slay.
