The management and staff of Exide BaUeries of New Zealand. Limited, held a Christmas tree narty on Saturday afternoon at their \>remise3 in Hutt Park Road. One hundred and twenty adults and SO children —wives and children and friends of employees--weie entertained. The attractions consisted of a magic cave, decorated with fernery and small coloured lights, where Father Christmas and the Christmas tree were located. Each child received an appropriate gift from Father Christmas, who was assisted by a Fairy. The children also received toy windmills. Perhaps the chief attractions were the large model electric railway and working model steamships sailing on an in-' door sea. Ice cream, soft drinks, and sweets in f jundance were available for the children. The adults were entertained to afternoon tea by the women of the staff. It was a very successful afternoon, everyone thoroughly enjoying themselves. The success was largely cfcue to the efforts of the Social Club.
