MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS
ATTITUDE TO "TICKETS” At the annual meeting of the Lower Hutt Ratepayers’ Association the chairman, Mr. C. H. Main, said that it had been decided to consider the pari, if any, to be played by the Association in the municipal elections next year, but the postponement of the elections from May to November meant that the incoming executive would not lie in office when they were held. \\ lien the Association was formed, said Mr. Hair, it was decided that it be non-party. He did not know if two “tickets” would be put up at tne next municipal elections, as at the last one. If so, the Association's executive, according to its rules, could not support either, but would support the candidates whom it thought best fitted for the position. 'l'he question would be raised at the next annual meeting, to be held in September, and perhaps they might be able to persuade the candidates to abandon “tickets” in favour of getting the election of the best people.
