LOWER HUTT DANCER

* RETURNS A LONDON STAR Bebe de Roland, who left Lower Hutt as a child to try her luck as a dancer in England, quickly won success in classical ballet, and became a London star. She has just returned to Australia under engagement to J. C. Williamson, Ltd., as principal dancer in “Follow the Girls,” a new musical comedy which will open in Sydney on Saturday. Bebe de Roland and Lois Green, who flew from London to Australia, were entertained at a pre-lunch cocktail party by J. C. Williamson, Ltd., at the Hotel Australia, Sydney, one day last week. Don Nicol will be principal comedian of “Follow the Girls,” and others in the company are Lois Green (very popular in musical comedy in Australia before she went to London just before the war), Fred Murray and Ormonde Douglas (in New Zealand recently with the Gladys Moncrieff company), Pat Keating, Claude Flemming, Wilma Harrison, and Billy Kershaw.
