NAEXAE-WADDINGTON AREA. STEPS AGAINST VANDALISM. A general meeting of the NaenaeA’addington Progressive Association ;as lield in the Community Hall at Vaddington. The chairman, Mr. I. S. V. Simpson, presided over a air gathering of residents. The report of the committee reerred to the establishment of the s ost Office, telephone facilities, inreased train services, and a promise n the near future of a State Adances Corporation rent-collecting lepot. The chairman stated that the committee was concerned at the prevalence of vandalism in the district. The native bush reserves surroundng the district, were being wantony destroyed and numerous instances yere reported of truck loads of ferns ind shrubs being cut down and .aken away. The committee was letermined to stamp out this vandalism and at its request the Housng Department had authorised the ippointment of honorary wardens with authority to report on persons ommitting any vandalism. Condition of Nnenne Ifoad, It was stated that the condition Naenae Road was very serious ihd no satisfaction had been obtained from the Public Works Bepartnent. or the City Council. It was lecided that a deputation visit the Jouncil to discuss, the problem and also to request the immediate establishment of children’s play grounds n the district. Reports were received and discussed on health and community centres.
