INVESTIGATION RECOMMENDED. Tn a discussion on industry at a meeting of the executive ,of the lutt Valley Chamber of Commerce ind Industry Mr. H. V. Horlor expressed the opinion that the importance of gas for industry should not be lost sight of. Some industries needed gas, but it present there was no possibility of providing gas for them in the luantity required, said Mr. Horlor. Someone should investigate the posi.ion. Some industries had made irrangements to come into the Hutt Valley on (he understanding that gas would be provided, but it was lot available. The Chamber of Commerce should take an interest n the gas position. Mr. E. A. Tomkies said that gas was tied up with coal, and the position regarding that was uncertain. The question of the importation of oil for power might be considered;
