HUTT WEST RAILWAY

* TO END AT MELLING. At the last meeting of the Hutt River Board, during a discussion on river erosion near Melling, the engineer, Mr. H. Sladden, stated that he had been informed that when the electrification of the railway was carried out the Hutt western line would end at Melling. When asked if that fact should be published Mr. Sladden said he saw no reason why it should not. The statement had been made quite openly.
