HUTT"vALLEY ASSOCIATION The Hutt Valley Returned Services Association is now the fifth largest in New Zealand. The rapid increase of membership during the past year has exceeded all expectration, Messrs. W. H. Goldsworthy far as Returned Service personnel is concerned is still very acute, and no effort is being spared to alleviate the pressure. Many badges are still being lost, and members should make every endeavour to prevent their loss. A handy little rubber gadget easily applied is available at the secretary's office and these should be procured by all members not in possession of same. The waiting list for new badges is a long one, and to avoid any disappointment in being a long time without a badge do your best not to lose the one you have. Sub-Committees Appointed The following subcommittees have been set up to deal with tne various matters for the current year:—Finance and office administration, Messrs. W. H. Holdsworthy (chairman) and all chairmen of other committees; assistance committee, Messrs. H. E. Edwards ((chairman), C. V. Brettell, R. J. Cleland and W. E. Garrett; housing committee. Messrs. W. H. Goldsworthy (chairman), E. F. Wilton, W. E. Garrett and Wheeler; house and social committee, Messrs. F. M. Ryan (chairman), R. J. Cleland, W. Ash'and G. Rodda; club house committee, Messrs. F. M. Ryan (chairman), W. H. Goldsworthy, C. V. Brettell, A. W. Wheeler and W. Ash; publicity officer, Mr. F. M. Ryan; new building committee, the president, Messrs. E. Wilton and W\ E. Garrett; welfare officer and hospital visitor, Mns. Hyder, assistant hospital visitor, Miss Audrey Robbins. Caretaker-Steward of Club Mr. Tim Mac Duff, who has recently been discharged from the Army, has been appointed caretaker-stew-ard of the Club Rooms. Mr. Macduff has had experience of a similar nature overseas and at home, and will we feel sureicapably fill a longfelt want at the club. Members are reminded that the Victory Queen Carnival is still in
progress and they are asjked to get behind their Queen, Miss Joy Clark, and spare no effort to put hei< in a winning position. .
