NAENAE BOWLING CLUB

OPENING OF NEW PAVILTON The Naenae Bowling Club’s new pavilion was officially opened on Saturday afternoon by the Mayoress, Mrs. J. W. Andrews. The president, Mr. R. L. Christie, expressed gratification at the growth of the club, which has over 100 members. He thanked all members who had helped in the erection of the pavilion, and Mr. E. Hutt, City Superintendent of Reserves, and others, for valuable assistance. Mr. H. E. Combs, M.P., congratulated trie club on its progress, and Mr. B. A. Guise (president of the Wellington Bowling Centre) and Mr. T. Lock (vice-president of the New Zealand Bowling Council) said that the club’s greens would be used when the Dominion championship tournament was held in Wellington next year. An open tournament, for which 32 teams entered, was won by Upper Hutt, skipped by Wimms.
