OF HEALTH UNWASHED HANDS ARE DANGEROUS Unwashed hands spread disease. Keep yours clean. Plain soap and wat«r, and plenty of it, will do it. Before handling food or dishes the hands must be carefully washed. Unclean hands and finger-nails which have become soiled through contact with nose, mouth, handkerchief, body waste, discharges or sores, harbour countless germs. Some of them are capable of causing serious illnesses and epidemics. The human bowel is alive with germs which are essential for the proper functioning of the body. But even a healthy individual may harbour disease germs which are dangerous when transferred to food. Dysentery, summer sickness and typhoid are examples. Consequently, washing of the hands after every visit to the lavatory is a strict necessity. This rule is applicable to EVERYONE, and particularly to food-handlers. ' Food poisoning can be prevented by clean hands, cool storage " and protection from contamination. Think of the other person, and keep those hands dean.
