Attention was directed, in the main, to the president's report • oh - the anmial conference held earlier in the month. He expressed the , opinion that the meetings were a , great success and that, judging by the abilities of delegates, the Asso- . ciation should become a live and pro! [ gressive body as membership grows. The dance held on Thursday evening attracted a larger attendance f than hitherto and will obyiotisly become a popular feature of social life in the Valley. Attention drawn to the variation in future arrange--3 ments. Firstly, the venue of the - dance has been changed to the R.S.A r Hall (above Liebezeits in High St) 3 and secondly, two dances will be held . in September, on Wednesday 12th ? and Saturday 29 th respectively. The - former is advertised in this issue - and it Bhould be noted that these 3 functions are now open to the general public.
"A man shouldn't stay at home every night in the week," said Mr. James Mills, of the Petone Workingmen's Club when giving evidence regarding club life, before the Licens ing Commission in Wellington last week.
