RATEPAYERS ASSOCIATION
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES CONSTITUTION AND RULES At the inaugural meeting of the newly formed Ratepayers Association the following draft rules and constitution were adopted: TITLE The name of the Association shall be "The Lower Hutt City Ratepayers' Association". NON PARTY The Association shall take no part in party politics. OBJECTS (a) To promote the interests and welfare of the Ratepayers of the City of Lower Hutt and of the citizens generally; to promote the welfare and development of the City of Lower Hutt and to encourage in all citizens a spirit of pride in their City and a desire to improve and beautify it. (b) To encourage town planning and zoning on the latest scientific lines, in the interests of the health and well being of the citizens. (c) To co-operate with any organi sation or local body in the furtherance of the objects of the Association. (d) To recommend suitable persons as candidates for the Lower Hutt City Council, and other local bodies. MEMBERSHIP ; The members of the Association shall be those ratepayers of the Lower Hutt City to whom, rate demands are issued who shall duly! apply to join the Association. j A yearly membership fee of 2/6 shall be payable by each member at the commencement of each financial year. The committee shall have power to remove from the register of members, any member who has not paid his membership fee within three (3) months after the commencement of each financial year. FINANCIAL YEAR The financial year of the Association shall commence on Ist September in each year. OFFICERS The officers shall consist of a chairman, a vice-chairman,, a secre- ■ tary-treasurer, and nine committeemen.
