BOULCOTT GOLF CLUB

— During the week-end a series of games between members of the Mornington Club and .the Boulcott Club were staged on the Boulcott Links. Games such as these do much to further the goodwill ambng the clubs. The games played over the week-end resulted in a win by a comfortable margin for the home club, but as neither club was at fully representative strength, future contests may be looked forward to with interest by members or both clubs. .Some good efforts were produced by the winners of the various competitions played over the week-end arid as a result the Handicap Comhard at work most of the time. Bob Menzies, New Zealand and Canterbury and Wellington reprilentaltive cricketer, showed he could mateo low scores at golf as well as high scores at cricket and as a result of last week's effort he broke his' "duck" and wi.ll no longer be playing from the limit mark. Many of the various trophy games have now entered all advanced stage and are creating a good deal of interest. Most coveted event is the Clements Shield which has now reached the fourth round. One well-known member still remaining in this event was heard promising his partner a new golf ball of fashionable make fo,r each game won by them, as an extra incentive towards

victory. Winners of the various competitions played over the week-end wfere: —■ Stableford Bogey: F. Thorn and R. H. Potts, 36 points. Eclectic: B. Hamer 30 points, L. Dal ton 31 points. Bogey: R. Menzies 3 up, W. O'Keefe, all square. Four Ball Best. Ball Bogey: R. Menzies and C. Trangman 9 up; W. O'Keefe and N. V. Edwards 5 up. Ladies Eclectic: Miss P. Dudding 34, Mrs. N. Edwards and Miss K. Boswell 35. Ladies Four Ball Best Ball Bogey: Mrs Vaughan and Miss P. Hunt 4 up; Mrs Thorn and Mrs Christie all square.
