TAITA HALL

A popular and well attended function at Taita last week was the reopening of? the Taita Hall. Originin 1922 by the late W. the hall functioned -as a local, Rendezvous. until taken over by ;G-oferninent Department early in World' War 2. '-^.j '0n Being handed back to the Taita Hall Society last year, extensive renovations were carried out and in its new improved form the hall was officially opened last week by the Mayor (Mr. J. W. Andrews) during a happy function, over which Mr. F. S. Hewer presided. Complete with a first-class dance floor, supper rooms, committee rooms, stage and dressing rooms, the new hall is a valuable asset to the social and cultural life of the district, and is a credit to the community spirit of the local residents, by whose efforts this modern structure has been remodelled.
