ALICETOWN TOWNSWOMEN'S GUILD
The sixth annual meeting of the Alicetown Townswomen's Guild was presided over by Mrs. A. Cox, anc three new members were proposed. The annual report showed that good work had been done by the Guild during the year and the president thanked members for their cooperation. The election of officers resulted in Mrs Cox being again elected president, and the committee is as follows: Mesdames Britton, Black, Clark, Doran, Fitzmorris, Harris, Millar, Prangley, Pole and Scott.
A collection was taken up for the City Mission, amounting to £1/19/6.
After the business was concluded, the Monthly Thought was contributed by Mrs Boyer, and is worth passing on: "If any one speaks evil of you, let your life be such that no one will believe him."
The cup was won by Mrs. Millar. .. ,
Elocution items were given by Mrs Tompkins and duets were sung 'by Mrs Bold and Mrs Caley accompanied by Miss Caley at the piano. The speaker was the Rev Harry Squires, who told of the good work done by the Wellington City Mission.
