REPERTORY THEATRE

The Hutt Repertory Theatre announces that it will present "Windows," a three-act play the wellknown dramatist John Galsworthy, in St. James's Hall, Woburn Road, fbr a season of four nights, from Tuesday l.'Uh March, to Friday,. Kith The play is not so generally known as many of this author's works, and differs from the majority of them that it combines serious discussion with very real comedy. In the character of Bly, the garrulous and philosophical window-cleaner, Harry Pain ter has an excellent opportunity for humorous characterisation, which is nevertheless genuinely moving. Shirley Kaye plays the part o€ his daughter, a part shot with colour and light, but tinged with tragedy. As Mr. March, a polished and wholly satisfying piece of acting will be presented by Mr. Leslie. Other players include Mrs Bessie Anderson, who is well loved by Hutt and Wellington audiences, Miss I3ullen, Miss Davies, Messrs Al»ex Douglas, C. Dixon and A. McFarlane. The scenery and lighting, which will be a feature of the production, are being specially arranged by Mr. Doig. The producer is Mrs Craig Mackenzie. \ Music will be provided by a full string orchestra under Hie capable leadership of Mrs. E. F. Rothwell. The box plan will be with Mr. Stonehouse, High Street, and will be open to the public on and after Sth March.
