R.S.A. Notes

By Sergeant_Major

The R.S.A. Rooms in High Street proved a very popular rendezvous for the lovers of old-time dancing on Saturday night, when 138 people were present and stepped the light fantastic to the strains of delightful old-time music by Tom Bradley's Band. .The successful opening night for 1945 was a good indication for the season, and proves more than ever that old-time dances and melod-

ies are becoming more popular every day. The stalwarts of the ladies' committee were on hand once more to handle the supper arrangements. Mr. A. A. (Ike) Cohen was an efficient M.C., in the absence of Mr. C. J. Tustin. During the evening the chairman of the social committee thanked those present for their support, and expressed the wish that they would continue to attend the dances throughout the season, when every effort would be made to cater for their enjoyment.

The Junior Club has been dogged by Continual wet weather on each Thursday night since they started their season's dances. It is hoped however that their luck will change and they will be favoured with more suitable conditions in the future. These young people are making every effort to run their 50/50 dances successfully, and those who desire a modern dance interspersed with old time are assured of a good night's entertainment. They run these dances every Thursday night in the R.S.A. Rooms at 8 p.m. Noel Blair's Band supplies the music.

The Ladies' Card Afternoons are held every Wednesday in' the Rooms, at 2.30 p.m. Wives, widows, and daughters of returned servicemen are invited' to attend and are assured of a pleasant afternoon.
