AMATEUR ATHLETICS
On Monday evening the Lower .lutt Amateur Athletic Club held its asual weekly meeting on the Recreation Ground. There was an excellent attendance of members and competition in . the events held was /ery keen. The results were as fGlows:—

100 Yards, Junior: N. Howart 1, L. Howard 2, D. 3. 100 Yards, Senior: 1. I. Handcock 2, F. Instone 3. -
880 Yards, Open: P. Bacori,.3, C Hurrell 2, F. Instone 3.
Broad Jump, Open: D. Bourne (20ft 2in) 1, F. Instone (19ft BUn) 2, N/ Rodley and H. Brettell ( IDl't 7tiin) 3.
Shot Put: D. Bourne (33ft Gin) 1, L. Howard (32ft Gin) 2. N. Howart (32ft 104 i n) 3.
The events to be held next Monday evening are: 220 Yards, 880 Yards, Discus, High Jump, 100 Yards ladies.
Training nights are held every Wednesday evening under the direction of Mr. N. Player. A full attendance of members is requested every Wednesday.
On Saturday, 9th December,' the club is combining with the Hutt Val ley Interhouse Girls' Association in staging an attractive meeting. Entries for the various athletic events show that there will be some good competition, with many athletes from Wellington Centre, including most of last year's provincial championship winners competing. Entries close on Monday the 4th December.
