<$> Last week the Hutt Valley Y.M.C.A took another step forwaid in the opening of two more branches in Lower Hutt. In the V.I.C. area <j<. girls and boys from Boulcott ana Eastern Hutt Schools were preseii, at Knox Schoolroom on Tuesday lor the opening day. About 40 girls and boys from Graceiield, Ilandwick and Waiwhetu Schools attended th. opening of the Moera Group on Thursday. Tlie.se classes are for children in Standards 4, 5, and <>. The Boys' Work Director is taking classes for physical education in two schools in the Hutt Valley. The Y.M.C.A. Table Tennis Club has entered three teams in the competition this year, in C, D, and E. grades. The D and E teams have won all their games so far and fh C team has won two games and lo: one. The club night is Thursday n the Petone Y.M.C.A.
Men's Basketball. In the A Grade competition the 'Unbeaten Y.M. Gym team lo.st to Hoboes last week, but still lead by two points from Hoboes and Police. Aces lead, from Petone Hockey in the B Grade and in the Youths' Grade there is only one point be. tween four teams. The points after six rounds are: — A Grade: Y.G. Gym 10, Police 8.
