The Hutt News Wednesday, JUne 28, 1944 POWER BOARD HEAD RESIGNS
$ . At last week's meeting of the Hutt Valley Electric Power Board the Engineer General Manager (Mr E. i<. Hollands), notified the board of his intention to resign from the position on the advice of his medical adviser. The intimation was first given to the late chairman, Mr. A. Walker, on May, who thought it inadvisto report the matter to th<.board prior to the election. On the motion of Mr. Giesen, seconded by Mr. Blackley, it was re solved that in view of the medical report submitted Mr. Holland's notice of intention to retire six months after 30th June 1944, be received with regret. Mr. Hollands, who has held the position with the board for fifteen years, has promised to remain with the board until the appointment of his successor provided his health permits. It Was decided to advertise the position in Great Britain, Canada, South Africa and Australia and in ihe four principal cities in New Zealand.
