OBITUARY
<8> Jill. J AMISS DAVIDSON The 1-lutt Bowling Club has recent ly lost one of ils best known and n.ghly respected members in the pe.'oPn of Mr. James Davidson, who parted away at: the Wellington llop. li'-ial after a long illness. The late M,r Davidson .joined the club in 1! 12 and became one of the best known personalities among the bowling fraternity in the Wellington disdistrict. As a bowler he won many distinctions in his own club and until quite recently no team of importance was complete without "Jim." He was secretary of the club from V.u:'.19, and treasurer from 19.'!7 to (lie time of his death. His name has many places on the Honours P.oards of the Ilutt Club. In be won the .junior champion singles, champion pairs in 191 I, champion singles in 191 <>. He skipped the champion club rinks teams in 1919 and 1921, and in 1921, 192!), and 19:1 he was a member of the champion team. By profession Mr. Davidson was a schoolmaster and was headmaster in the Masterton, district before being posted to tho chariro of TOpnni School, from which he retired in 1927. I'he funeral took place at I he 1 Crematorium and was largely altended tho service being conducted by the Rev. J. E. Lopdell. He is survived by his widow and thre ; daughters and two sons.
