TABLE TENNIS
The Hutt Valley Association now has the pleasure in announcing to t.he public that the opportunity has arisen for them to see "A" grade players in action. Commencing on Monday next, :.Srd July, in the Moera Hall, Empire (last year's "A" grade champions) will meet th-s runners-up Randwick. This match should be worth witnessing as on analysing the players, the talent rates high. For Empire— S. Henderson (H.V. is a wonderful defensive player. J. Wall (H.V. rep), has a very deceptive style and is capable of beating the best. F. Smith (H.V. rep), has a devistat ing back hand flick worth seeing. Miss B. Strang (H.V. rep), is a hard hitting player of many years' experience, and can handle spin with most of the men players.. For Randwick: H. Chapman (H.V. rep), an exceptional hard hitter with plenty of sting in his play. R. Gray, a veteran player, who is capable of upsetting the best. Mrs R. Valk (H.V. rep), is another hard hitting flayer with a good pen style. G. Valk is a defensive player with a severe chop. The match between Henderson and Chapman will be worth witnessing, the question is can Chapman hit hard enough to penetrate Henderson's rock-like defence? On this occasion there will be no charge for admission, but in fixture a charge will be made.
