Y.M.C.A.

The following arc the present' executive officers of the Hutt Valley Y.M.C.A.: —President, Mr H. £?. Hills; vice-Presidents, Messrs C. L. Jackson and \V. Carey; Hon. Secretary, Mr \Y. J. \Y. Munro; Hon. Treasurer, .Mr H. S. Fannin?; Hon. Solicitor, Air E. F. Rothwell; Hon. Auditor, Mr C. S. Falconer; Chairmen of Committees: Religious Work: Rev. J. t}. Lopdell; Youth Work: Mr R. A. Bell; Building: Mr C. h. Jackson.

Under the direction and leadership of the staff—Mr G. R. Pitkethley, General Secretary, Mr D. J. Wiffin, Boys' Work Director and Miss L. Rosomau, Girls' Work Director — separate gymnasium classes for boys and girls, in the following ag°groups, are being held, both at Petone and Waterloo. Under 10, Primary 10 and over, Secondary and Senior. Hobbies groups have been formed for boys and girls, and football competitions for tlie boys. Teams of boys from Petone .Waterloo and Moera are taking pait.in indoor basketball. Secondary and senior boys are taking a course in Anatomy and Physiology.'

It would not be possible for the Y.M.C.A. to render such a splendid community service if it were not for the valuable contribution from voluntary helpers within the membership of the Association. These members of the Leaders' Corps are — Messrs L. J. Nicholas, S. Pallistor, G. T. Aitken, R. Smith, G. Pitt, M. Taylor, J. T. Fitzgerald; Misses D. Richards, C. Seagar and P. Nicholls. The total active membership of the Hutt Valley Y.M.C.A. at present is 612. Besides these, there are over 200 sustaining members who, by helping the Association financially each year, make it possible for boy.s and girls to become members at such a low cost. The two Ladies' Auxiliaries under the Presidency of Mrs J. W. Andrews (Waterloo) and Mrs Gray ( Potone) have done and continue to do a tremendous amount of work raising money for the Association by means of bazaars, dances and other activities. They are at present lireparing for a Street Day in the near future. Other officers are —Dance Committees (Waterloo) Chairman, Mr W. J. W. Munro; M.C., Mr J. Hale. t,Petone) Chairman, Mr C. L. Jackson; M.C., Mr J. Martin.

Badminton Club Captains: (Waterloo), Mr W. J. W. Munro; (Peione). Miss J. Lambourn. Men's Basketball Officials: Messrs F. Vernon, R. Collins and B. J. 80, j. A Table Tennis Club is being formed again at Petone this year, but officers have not yet been chosen.
