Scouts who do not know the pioneering or first-class, etc., knots and splices, should attend at the St. Augustine Hall on Thursday, 18th, at 7 p.m when knotting instruction will be given. All Scouts are welcome if they wish to brush up their knots, lashings, and splices. The Hutt "Valley Y.M.C.A. is again catering for the boys and girls of the Valley during the school vacation witth their creative leisure campaign. The Association has arranged an outstanding and attractive programme of hikes, picnics, factory visits, picture parties and sports days. The programme will be available to all boys and girls over 0 years of age, and the programme should appeal ,to parents who are working during the day. The Returning Officer requires the services of a number of ladies or gentlemen for staffing the polling booths on election day. In this issue appears an advertisement for the May meeting of the Lower Hutt Branch of the League of Mothers to be held on Thursday, 31th May in the Wesley Hall. Miss of the Vocational Guidance Office is to be the speaker. There is also a creche where mothers can leave their children while they enjoy the meeting.
