Services Club
Members of the Lower Hutt Federation of Women's Institutes were the hostesses at the Services Club .for the week-end, which was a busy one for all concerned. Sunday even ing's programme of .items, games and community singing was well received, the ' contributing artists being Miss Marie Cording, solo tap dances; Miss Enid Wood, songs; Mr. J. Blackwood, piano-accordionist; and Mr. Jack Shearer, humorous monologues. The M.C. was Mr. J. Kyle and at the piano was Mr. J. Mann.
For the information of servicemen and women, the Lower Hutt Services Club is open daily from 4.30 p.m. except on Saturdays and Sundays when the opening time is 11.SO a.m. Reading and writing facilities are available, indoor games, table tennis and radio are popular, whilst organised dancing is held on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. A milk bar is another well patronised feature of the Club. All service jnen and women are cordially invited to make use of the Club whilst on leave, and to note that it is situated in High Street, Lower Hutt (over Messrs. Carey's, Drapers ).
