H.V. HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY

The schedules for the shows for

the coming season are now in print and. will be 'distributed shortly. The special feature of the Spring Show, to be held on 15th and 16th September, is the Narcissi single bloom class for amateur growers. The

joints prize in this class is a trophy valued £it £5/5/-, donated by Mr. A. Law.

This season the Society is endeavouring to encourage that side of horticulture which deals with the growing of vegetables. In addition 'to generous iprize lists for vegetables exhibited at the shows the Society is offering prizes, Ist £3/3/-, 2nd "£l./1/-, for the best vegetable gar'den iu the Hutt Valley. This competition is open to all amateur gardeners who do their own digging.
