The sporting public are reminded | of the Boxing Contest to be staged j in the King George Theatre next Monday night when the proceeds will be devoted to the U.S.A. Building Fund. The contest gives pro-' •mise of being an outstanding event 'and both the Marines and Wellington boys have not let up in their training. Tickets are on sale at 'Horrie Skilton's, High Street, Lower 'Hutt, and at Chris. Nissen's, Jackson 'Street Petone. There are no reserves, so it will pay to be early as there are only one thousand tickets i ; or sale and any surplus will be sold at the King George Theatre on the night of the performance. ROSE DAY The appeal sent out last week for crepe paper for Rose Day has met 'with a good response, and we thank all those who have so generously given their personal stocks to assist the worthy cause. There may be 'some who did not notice the appeal last week, and will they, if they 'have any surplus supplies, send it &long to the U.S.A. Rooms. The 'colours mostly in demand are reds, orange and yellows.
