INSTALLATION OF TELEPRINTER MACHINE The introduction of the Creed Teleprinter Machine in the Telegraph Section of the new Post Ollice, which whs installed very quietly a few days ago, is another forward step so far as local amenities are concerned and an event of considerable importance . The machine, which has a key-board similar to that of a small typewriter, is manipulated on the touch type principle, and is capable of receiving and sending simultaneously an average of 62 messages an hour. i The Creed Teleprinter, or some adaptation of it, is in use in all modern Telegraph Offices throughout the world and its introduction to ! Lower Hutt brings the local Telegraph Office into line with the principal offices throughout the Dominion. The result will be a substantial saving in the time of transmission between Wellington and Lower Hutt and an appreciably better service to the public.
