HAPPINESS CLUB
A garden party, held to assist the ifunds of the Happiness Club, took fyiac.6' at the home of Mrs Scrimj;eour, Wyndrum Avenue on Thursday The Mayoress, Mrs : iF. W. Andrews, who opened the party, Shanked the hostess and appealed to those present to support the shop day held in J\id of patriotic funds* each Friday. A choir, under the baton of Mrs. Sunderland, with Mrs Stokes at the piano gave items. Miss Jean Goss presented a dance, and Miss Eileen Carter sang, and Mlbs Elaine Edney gave elocutionary items. Members of the Lower Hutt and Petone clubs were responsible the organisation of the effort, "fSich was most successful financially.
