THE LEAGUE OF MOTHERS

MOERA—WAIWHETU The March meeting was held in St. Paul's Hall, presided over by Mrs Wedekind who extended a hearty welcome to all present. Two very delightful solos were sung by Mrs. Hubbard, "Smiling Through" and "Alice Blue Gown." A very enlightening talk was given by Miss Macmillan on the running of the New Hostels for girls, which are being opened at Woburn, and as far as it is possible for institutions to be they will be real homes away from home. • Mrs. Kersley also, spoke on 'Hints for the Home' displaying many samples of the culinary art. She pointed out how the often despised tasks are so essential in the running of a happy home. Mrs. Wedekind thanked Mrs. Kersley and presented her with a shoulder spray. The afternoon was brought to a close with the singing of the National Anthem.
