aj,«oo oi< ;i5-;i7 A<;:o (;kolp Uli SiIHt.WV.VL OF WOK KICKS L'KOM IMJUSTKV Additional men., arc to be called up for .service with the armed forces at an early dale. J'ae Miniver of National .Service, Mr, Broadfoot, stated r,n Monday night that this list would contain the names of men of M 5, 3f) and V>7 years of age, with chidrun, together with ihe inflow into classes previously called up for military service. "'Approximately 21,000 men will be called on and their names will be' gazetted on September 15th,'" .said the Minister. "The men will be medically examined as soon as possible, hix no indication can at presenv be .given when tfiey will 'be required to' enter camp. "The withdrawal oi' further men from industry to enter the forces will necessitate -the applications of measures of industrial re-organisa-tion designed to offset these losses insolar as they affect the more essential industries, and further and more dras-tic curtailments of nonessential industries and services are inevitable. "I"'P to tiie end of July last, more than 5000 persons had been directed into essential industries while more than 2000 essential workers who would ordinarily have left these industries wore prevented from doing so in terms of the national service emergency regulations. In order to ensure that these and related measures for rationalisation and re-organisa-t ion <*;f industry, and mobilisation of the Dominion's latent labour resources, are carried out with the maximum of effectiveness, the War Administration has plans in hand at the presen-f time involving a complete examination, .of indusiries and services. This examination will be merely the prelude to a further acceleration of measures designed to meet, the needs of ihe armed forces while at the same lime maintaining tho.-e industries and services which are essential to the community.'' • ; -
