TRANSPORT I Mi. Judging from the numerous enquiries made by those whose cars are enrolled through the Unit, it seems obvious that the circular letter sent out by Transport Headquarters has not been read. We repeat the previous announcement that essential services such as the delivery of bread, milk, meat and provisions will function in a normal manner — or modified according to the instructions given by the Supply Authority concerned. All transport allocated to Works, Fire or Medical will report according to instructions contained in the circular, and will carry out. the directions of their controller or section leader. All other transport will report to Transport Headquarters. Ward Street, for fluty u's required by the Unit. Owners of every truck or motor car on the Unit's register have received definite instructions (hrough tin 1 post as io emergency duties, and now that the allocation of cars for the use of inspectors etc., in Works and other units has been completed, the owners concerned will receive their detailed instructions within a few days. It is essential that both car and truck owners should see to the provision of correct black-out requirements, so that no undue delay should take place in an emergency, and more important, still, that no vehicle should be driven with lights displayed in a manner which contravenes the Emergency Lighting Regulations. Drivers are reminded that in a complete black-out the only lights permissable are 7-watt parking and tail lamps, same to be obscured to the extent, ot two thicknesses of news print. The Unit's Maintenance Section is experimenting with a simpler method of providing the required amount of reduced lighting. WOMEN'S WAR SERVICE AUXILIARY Camouflage Nets. —It has been found that <5 4 stitches produces the size required—l 4 x 14, and all women making these nets are asked to cast on fi4 stiches when starting new nets. St. John Ambulance. —Classes in First Aid will be held at Wesley Hall-.on Mar.c.lL 9th at 7.30 p.m. Signalling—Classes under Captain Maunder will be held on Thursday nights at Recreation Ground, at 7.30 Military Drill is held every Tuesday night at Recreation Ground at 7 o'clock. Applications to serve ill the Army Home Seijvice Division must have birth certificates and two references --one as to character and one for ability.
