STOKES VALLEY WOMEN'S INSTITUTE
The November meeting of the Stokes Valley Women's Institute was held in line weather, and there was a good attendance. .Mrs. Combe presided and opened the meeting with the New Zealand National Anthem. Good reports were made on the patriotic work done during the month. The Singing Circle sang two numbers, and afternoon tea was served by Mrs. P.oyce and helpers.
Following afternoon tea the committee put on the "Mime'' which
won them the brass vase at the recent half-yearly council meeting held at Newlands.
An interesting talk was given by Mrs. Kehoe on her experiences as a nursing sister in Belgium during the last war. Mrs. Kehoe was warmly thanked and given u posy of flowers. A bring and buy stall was well patronised, and the sum of £2/17/6 was taken. The competition for best knitted khaki skull cap was won by Mrs. Warder. These
caps are to be kept to enclose in
soldiers' parcels
