ST. STEPHEN'S WOMEN'S ASSOCIATION

$ A Scotcli afternoon held recently in St. Stephen's Bible Class Hall, convened by Mesdames Allington and McCallum, proved highly successful, there being a record attendance of Si members and frieiuls. The meeting was presided over by the president, Miss E. Steele, who extended a hearty welcome to all, especially to the eight friends from the Kelburn Women's Guild. A prayer for Peace was read, followed by the Lord's Prayer in unison. Arrangements were made to welcome the Rev. L. V. and Mrs. Bibby at the conclusion of the induction service on Wednesday evening. It was decided to hold a jumble sale in the Moera Hall on Friday, the 31st inst., and suitable goods may be left at any of the usual depots up to the 29th. Helpers are required for the evening of the sale, which opens at 7.150 p.m. Scotch songs were contributed by Mesdames Baker and E. V. Davys, accompanied by Mrs. Barron; and a short sketch in dialect was presented by Mesdames Benzies, 1 McCallum and Milne, with little Ena 1 Linton as the small girl in the household of "The Philosopher of t Butterbiggins." The items were very much enjoyed, and a hearty * vote of thanks was accorded the 1 performers, and the committee responsible for the delicious afternoon < tea served. Those assisting the 1 conveners were Mesdames Dalgliesh, Drysdale, Linton, Lopdell, Jones, J Marshall, Milne, Stephen and Mc- < Arthur. '
