"DAYS OF THE WEEK" BAZAAR

9 A NOVEL BAZAAR BY PETONE LADIES' AUXILIARY AT Y.M.C.A. A bazaar sponsored by the Petone Auxiliary of the Hutt Valley Y.M.C.A. will be held in the Y.M.C.A. building, corner of Cuba and Manchester Streets, Petone, on Friday afternoon and evening, 19th September, commencing at 2 p.m. The official opening will be perforin ed by the Deputy-Mayor, Mr. A. M. Macfarlane, and during the evening several items of an .'.istrumental, vocal, elocutionary or physical nature will be presented. A very novel feature of this bazaar will be the stocking of stalls to represent the seven days of the week. Everyone is quite familiar with Monday as laundry day, and the various items lor sale on tais particular stall cover a wide range of requirements for this day. Some of the other days of the week may be harder to identify, but it is only natural that the present war and the requirements of our boys oveit seas comes into the picture very early, and so Tuesday becomes soldiers' mail day, and many of the articles for sale on this stall will make excellent additions to our soldiers' parcels. No doubt as a result of the recent bad weather, the ladies realise that we have all more or less had very little opportunity to attend to the gardens at this time of the year as is usual, so Wednesday has been set aside as gardening day. The* menfolk may wonder when they are likely to get a meal during this busy bazaar, but this very important matter hasi not been overlooked, and Thursday stall is to be baking day. There should be no need to say that Friday is shopping day, but it may he of interest to realise what a wondereful range of bargains in frocks, children's clothes and novelties are to be secured from this stall. Saturday, as market day, will provide all the produce for the week-end requirements, while for the Day of Rest on the Sunday stall many items for reading and writing will be available. In addition to the above ' stalls, provision has been made for ice cream, soft drinks and confectionery, and many games and competitions will add to the attractions of the fair. This "Days of the Week" bazaar should prove one of the outstanding events of the year in Petone, and the Ladies' Auxiliary, In addition to the services they are rendering to the soldiers at Trentham Camp each week, are making a .determined effort to maintain the association's work in the community, and their efforts deserve everybody's support. Join in the fun o' games in this happy shopping day. Buy all your weekly needs in the one day. Save money on all your purchases and at the same time assist the Y.M.C.A., which does so much good work during the year.
