DEDICATION CEREMONY AND CHARTER CONCERT
An event of great community interest will take place on Thursday, 31st July, when the Acting Prime Minister, the Hon.' Walter. Nash, will officially open the flqe: building recently acquired bytheH-utt Valley Young Men's Christian Association in Birch Street, Lower Hutt, for the extension of their character-building work in this area. The Hutt Valley Y.M.C.A. is unique in that it was built with monies subscribed by the New Zealand soldiers in the army of occupation in Germany during 1918-19, in appreciation of the work of the Y.M.C.A. this money was brought back to New Zealand by Mr. C. R. Edmond, the present president of the National Council of Y.M.C.A.'s in New Zealand.
A special feature of the evening will be a charter concert, presented by Mrs, J. W. Andrews, and a glance at the artists' names on the programme, together with tjie appearance of the League of Mothers' Choir, should be sufficient to draw all music lovers at least to this ceremony. The new president of the Hutt Valley Y.M.C.A., ' Mr. W. Carey, will hie presiding, and otfyer speakers will' include His Worthip the Mayor of Lower Hutt (Mr. J. W. Andrews) fend Mr. C. R.
