English, of Auckland, newly-elected Dominion president, addressed the meeting with words 'of wisdom and encouragement for setting out on a new calendar year, outlining the "aims and objects" of the League of Mothers and the "Rules."

In referring to Easter, Mrs. English drew an analogy between Good Friday and Easter resurrection and the victory of right over wrong with the promise of new life. Mrs. English concluded by appealing to all present to be "living" members of the League of Mothers. Mrs. H. F. Lowe moved a very 2iearty vote of thanks to the speaker, and the meeting closed with the singing of the National Anthem.
