AMATEUR ATHLETIC CLUB
The club is now conducting its weekly meetings on* the Recreation Ground under the floodlights, commencing at 8 p.m sharp. This hour of starting is to be tried as an experiment aHd should the response of the public be satisfactory, this programme will be adhered to for the remainder of the season. An interesting and pleasant evening is promised to the public and admission to the ground is free. The following programme will be presented next Monday evening, Jth December:—Men, 50 yards; Distance event, 440 yards; Hurdles, 120 yards; Field events, Hop-step-jump, and javelin; Junior 50 yards and 220 yards; Ladies, 50 yards and 100 yards. Two cycling events to be arranged. The first weekly meeting held under the floodlights last Monday even ing was a distinct success. There were large entries for all events and some thrilling races were witnessed by a good atendance. Results: — 75 Yards, Ladies—Miss Wright, (H) 1, Miss Nicholus (P), 2; Miss Rosoman (H) 3. Time -9 1-5 sees. 100 Yards Junior.—Fowlds (P), 1; Bold (P), 2; McCabe (P) 3. Time 10 2-5 sees. 100 Yards Men. : —Morgan (H) 1; Wills (H) 2; Browne (H) 3. Time Usees. Half Mile Cycle.—Tifield (P) 1; Humphries (P) 2; Anderson (P) 3. Time 1 min 67 4-5 sees. One Mile.—Hayes (H) 1; Swain (H) 2; Shaw (P) 3. Time 4min 57secs. 220 Yards Junior!— Bold (P) 1; Minehan (H) 2; Seymour (P) 3. Time 24 2-5 sees. Ladies, 100 Yards.—Miss Greenfield (P) 1; Miss Wright (H) 2; Miss Rosoman (H) 3. Time 12 4-5 sees. 75 Yards Scratch Race. — Lees (H) 1; Wills (H) 2; Browne (H) 3. Time 8 3-ssecs. Three Mile Cycle.—T. Roe vr) 1; Webber (P.N) 2; McDonald (P) 3. Time 8 min 52 3-ssecs.
