POWER POLES IN ROAD

Reference to the position of power poles on the portion of the Western Hutt Road between the railway crossing and the Melling Bridge was made at last Thursday's meeting of the Hutt Valley Power Board. Mr. E. F. Hollands, the engineer, said that he was now satisfled with the progress being made. Some of the poles were in a dangerous position in the middle of the road, but the delay in shifting them was not the responsibilty of the board. A start was to be made almost immediately in moving the poles over against the railway line, and those now in the middle of the road would take seven days to shift to their new positions.
