HUTT GARDEN LAND FOR HOUSING
PROCLAMATION POSITION
The position regarding the proclamation over Hutt market garden lands for State housing was clarified at a meeting of the Hutt Valley Producers' Association in Lower Hutt. Official advice was received that while it was inadvisable to remove the proclamation over the whole area, as this included land which was not used for market gardening, there was no intention of going back on the undertaking given to market gardeners not to take their land for housing. Market gardeners could have the proclamation removed from their individual properties on making application.
