Weddings

SARGINSON—HfUTCHESON The wedding < of Rona Jane, daughter of Mr. and Mrs, W. Sarginson, Wadestown, to Patrick Mace, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hutcheson, took place recently at the Commonwealth Covenant Assembly Church, Mr. F. Wilson officiating. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a beautiful gown of ivory brocaded satin cut on empire lines and finished with small ivory buttons. Her veil, which was caught to the head with a halo of tiny arum lilies, fell in graceful folds to form a second train, and she carried a bouquet of roses and lily of the valley. Mrs. H. Brearley, matron of honour, and Miss Joan Isbister, who attended her, were frocked alike in eau de nil embossed georgette, and carried bouquets of pink roses, which matched the topknots surmounting their white tulle veils. After the ceremony the bride's mother, wearing a smart black ensemble with red corsage spray, received about 100 guests at the R.S.A. Hall. She was assisted by the bridegroom's mother, who wore a navy ensemble and shoulder in autumn tonings. When Mr. and Mrs. P. M;. Hutcheson left on their honeymoon, the bride was wearing a smart biaek sunray pleated frock, with black hat and accessories, and a silver fox fur, the gift of the bridegroom. Their future home will be in Wellington.

| NORTHAM—KELLY | At the Methodist Church, Lower Hutt, the marriage recently took ' place of Evelyn, daughter of Mr. ' and the late Mrs. Ar Northam, I Island Bay, to John Alexander, son ' of Mr. and Mrs. A. Kelly, also of j Island Bay. The officiating clergy--1 man was the Rev. H. T. Peat, and ' the organist was Mr. R. Horman. | The bride, who was escorted by 1 her father, wore a graceful gown of | parchment satin, cut on classical lines, with an oval train. The bodice was fashioned with a heartshaped neckline and leg-of-mutton sleeves. Her Chantilly lace veil was caught to her head with a coronet of orange blossom, and she carried a sheaf of irises, roses and maidenhair fern. Her matron- of honour, Mrs. S. J. Flannery, cousin of the bride, wore an azalea lace crinoline, finished with a deep flounce of ruched taffeta, square neckline and puffed sleeves. Her bouquet and coiffure spray were of azaleas, roses and maidenhair fern. Mr. I. Kelly was best man, and the ushers were Messrs. R. Burgess and J. Evans. After the wedding, Mrs. A. J. Gearing, the bride's aunt, wearing a diagonally striped floral dress under a fur coat, and carrying a bouquet of tulips and roses, and the bride's mother, who was in a black and white floral gown, with hat to tone and a bouquet of pansies and tulips, received the guests at Eva Draper's studio. The beautiful flowers decorating the church and the reception hall were given by Mrs. Robbie, and the wedding cake was the gift of Mrs. R. H. Burgess, the bride's aunt. When Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Kelly left for the South Island, the bride was wearing a blue frock with smart white accessories. Their future home will be in Island Bay.
