"MOTHER CAREY'S CHICKENS" A colourful, romantic period in American history will be screened at Prince Edward Theatre to-night, when "Mother Carey's Chickens" unfolds its heart-warming charm and sweet simplicity—a long-sought relief from the madcap comedies and ponderous dramas which have been invading our screens lately. SINGING COWBOY "Empty Holsters," a rip-ro.aring western movie, deals with outlaws and gun-flghts, has been scheduled to open on Thursday at the Prince Edward Theatre with big, red-hea-ded Dick Foran, the singing cowboy, as its husky and melodious hero. An additional point of interest in "Empty Holsters" lies in its leading lady, who makes her first screen appearance. She is Patricia Walthall, daughter of the famous Henry B. ("Little Colonel") Walthall, who stirred the dramatic world years ago by his performance in that role in "Birth of a Nation." He died only a few months ago, still in harness. "LIVE, LOVE AND LEARN" Teaming Robert Montgomery and Rosalind Russell for the third time, with Robert Benchley featured in one of his funniest characterisations and with Helen Vinson as the "other woman," the new M-G-M romantic comedy, "Live, Love and Learn," comes to the Prince Edward Theatre on Saturday. "LAUGHING IRISH EYES" "Laughing Irish Eyes," starring Regan with a new hit Irish comedian, Walter C. Kelly, vaudeville veteran, and Evelyn Knapp, will present golden-voiced Phil in the first of his enlarged singing screen roles at the Prince Edward Theatre on Thursday and Friday. Such old Irish favourites, seldom heard on the screen as "Londonderry Air,"* "Bless You, Darlin , Mother," and "All My Life," not forgetting the theme song, "Laughing Irish Eyes," are sung by Regan and poured into the heart of the spirited and adorable Irish lass.
