BAND OF HOPE

The meeting of the Hutt Valley Band of Hope was held in the Wesley Hall on Friday, March 3rd. There was a good attendance of children. Mr. Gordon Stirling conducted the meeting and gave a lecture on the effect of alcohol on the body. Essays on the same subject are to be handed in at the next meeting. The Band of Hope songs were sung by the children with enthusiasm, and a mouth organ solo was rendered by Ray Taylor. The competition was won by Dawn Taylor, Ray Taylor being second. The children were reminded that the next meeting would be held on the second Friday of next month, instead of the first. Supper was catered for by the Alicetown Congregational Ladies' Guild.
