A pTetty eveningi wedding was solemnised at St. James's Anglican church on" AugUsti 20th between Arthur Ezra John, son of ! Mrs. D. and the late Mr. A. Jones., Petone,, and Laurette May, daughter of Mr and Mrs R. Munger, Lower Hutt. The ceremony was performed by Rev. H. E. K. Fry, and Miss Harte was at the organ.
The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, wore a gown of cream silk velvet cut on classical lines and- falling into a long train. The heart shaped neckline was edged with rucking, and buttons and loops formed the trimming down the back, to the waist. The sleeves were pleated at the shoulders and pointed over the hands. A second train was formed by •the beautifully worked long tulle veil which was held in place by a coTonet of seed pearls.
Miss Joyce Clout, of Palmerston North, chief bridesmaid, Miss Joan Henry, and Beverley Goddard the flower-girl, were frocked alike in cherry-red silk velvet cut in similar pattern to the bride's dress, with heart shaped necklines and full skirts. Their juliet caps were of gold sequiift, and they wore gold shoes. The bridesmaids carried bouquets of gold-coloured frecsias narcissi, ranunculas, and maidenhair fern and the flower-girl carried a muff of real flowcrsi in similar tonings. The best man was Mt. Alan Jones, and Mr. L. Goddard acted as groomsman. The beautiful decorations which included a large bell of white flowers suspended over the chancel of the church were carried out by Mrs. Armstrong. After the ceremony a reception was held in 'the Horticultural Hall, where a hundred and thirty guests were welcomed IT. Mung.er, the bride's mother, who wore a blUe floral silk frock, a redingote in darker blue, and white fox fuT. Her accessories were navy and her posy consisted of red flowers and maiden hair fern. Mrs. D. Jones ; mother of the bridegroom, who assisted in welcoming the guests, was dressed in Wack satin and lace, with black accessories. Her flowers were in tonings of red. When Mr and Mrs. A. E. J. Jones left Lower Hutt to tour the North Island the latter chose as her outfit a London tan three-quarter'suit, with gold satin blouse, snaike skin shoes and purse, and a fur stole.
