Hutt Tennis Club

The official opening of the new season took place recently in the presence of about 70 members and friends when the Club Captain, F. S. Ilamson welcomed new members and visitors, and, after apologising for the absence of the President, Mr. L. P. Bunny introduced 'the Vice-president, Mr J. W. Andrews and Mrs. Andrews. Mr. Andrews congratulated the Club on last season's performance in winning both the Senior A and Senior B intex-club competitions and stated 'that with the facilities we have the Club compares more than favourably with any in the Wellington district. He then wished the Club a successful season after which he declared- the season open by hitting the lirst ball over the net. Afternoon *tea was by members of the ladies' committee and helpers and games we're a'.'ranged for those present.
