HUTT VALLEY Y.M.C.A.
Secondar school boys from the Masterton Y.M.C.A. were for three days, the guests of the members of the Hutt Valley Y.M.C.A. during the term holidays. The visitors under Mr. A. K. Bate, general secretary of the Masterton Y.M.C.A. competed against the Hutt Valley boys in gyin, basket-ball, hand-ball table tennis, indoor athletics and rugby football. The visitors on arrival were welcomed by Mr. A. C. Edwards secretary of ( the Hutt Valley Y.M.C.A. On Monday indoor athletics and gmyn. games wctre played. The out door athletics which were set down for Tuesday morning were cancelled owing to the wet state of the ground. • The afternoon was occupicd with a tour of inspection of the Hutt Railway Workshops and in the evening the party- was entertained at the theatre. The Tugby match played at the Hutt Recreation ground on Wednesday morning,, resulted in a win for tbe Hutt Valley team by 27 points to 3. The scorers for the Hutt Team were Brettell (2) Seymour (2) Whitcher (1), Tegg (1), Parkin. (1). BretteU converted two tries and Nicholls one. For Masterton, Munn scored a try. In the afternoon a visit to the Dominion Museum and a motor trip round the bays concluded the programme.
