BOATING CLUB DANCE
The Heretaunga Boating Club's rooms, Petone, were decorated with streamers in the club's colours, and radiating from a central disc encircled with multi-coloured lights for the club's dance and presentation of trophies on Saturday night. Representatives from other clubs who were present were:—Hutt Valley Motor Boat Club, Mr E. Kennedy; Petone Rugby Football Club, Mr J. Marton; Royal Port Nicholson Yacht Club, Mr R. Boyce and Mr 0. Highett; Muritai Boating Club, Mr G. Wilkinson. Mr R. M. White was the master of ceremonies.. The Mayor of Petone, Mr G. London, congratulated the club on its successful season, and presented the following trophies:—Committee Challenge Cup and minature, H. Slatter (Nukumai); Trex Cup, harbour race, J. Carline and W. Brady (Wairere); Efflce Cup, Monotype race, J. Tetley (Rongomai); Blythe Cup, crew's race, Valhalla sailed by H. Barget); Koeke Cup, Nukumai (sailed by Miss D. Paton); Wi Tako Cup (crews), N. Hosie (Waitui); Tetley-Nissen Shield, L. Hartley June Cup (scratch), H. Stutter (Nukumai) ; Olga Harvey Cup, J. Tetley (Rongomai); Hartley Cup, N. Hosie (Waitui); Wilford Cup, J.. Tetley (Rongomai); Thorndon Dinghy Cup, L. Williams (Valhalla); Rongomai Cup (women), Rongomai (sailed by Miss P. Caldwell); Croft Cup,- C. Booth (Lula); Heretaunga Cup, J.
